  1. The real climate chains are the policies that you want to impose that will do nothing to save the planet but will certainly hurt us economically and destroy personal freedoms

  2. In response to Todd:
"An attack on freedom”? I'm so sorry that you might have to give up some of your upper/middle class luxuries. What about the millions, or billions, who will lose their homes & become climate refugees? Can you even begin to contemplate someone else’s suffering? Yes, there’s a VERY SMALL chance you're right, & if so we’ll have wasted quite a bit of effort and money. But if you’re wrong, we will have wasted the whole planet. Well, it's up to you. Sit back for a few minutes and think about it.

  3. How about you sit back for a minute and realize that there are much more serious problems in the world?

how about you realize that spending trillions on trying to reduce the small amount of human emitted GHGs is a worthless task?

How about you realize that restricting energy use actually leads to significant suffering in many countries?

how about you realize that catastrophe and end of the world scenarios have gone on for centuries and you are just one of many to fall for the next one?

I'm not suggesting there are no other problems in the world, and maybe in actual fact you have just come up with a genius solution to ALL the world's problems: let's just carry on increasing our carbon emissions make the planet totally uninhabitable to humans, thus enabling other life to flourish. Nice one Todd, I hadn't thought of that idea, but you're a genius, thanks! I feel like booking myself a flight to come and thank you in person...

"how about you realize that spending trillions on trying to reduce the small amount of human emitted GHGs is a worthless task?"
I think you'll probably find that there are EVEN MORE TRILLIONS spent spent by the military industrial complex and that could pose an even greater threat to human existence on this planet, and I'm sorry to say that you've kind of shot yourself in the foot by saying there are "a small amount of human emitted GHGs"

"How about you realize that restricting energy use actually leads to significant suffering in many countries?"
There is a ray of hope if you are aware of the potential suffering of some countries. I believe it is the responisbility of countries who can cut their emissions without causing suffering to act first - i.e. the western world (north America, Western Europe, Australasia). The elimination of suffereing is exactly what inspires me to act.

"how about you realize that catastrophe and end of the world scenarios have gone on for centuries and you are just one of many to fall for the next one?"
Well yes, there is a slim chance that all those very intelligent scientists who have been studying the world's climate are wrong, and that the money men of the oiligarchy are right, but you know, I'm willing to side with the scientists on this one.

  5. todd, I'm curious. Can you back up any of your claims of "worthless task" and "significant suffering" with some evidence?

I'm not saying you are wrong, I'd just like to know what makes you think like this and I'm even willing to be swayed by your evidence.

It'd be lovely to know the threat of climate change is in fact a load of rubbish! What a relief that'd be!

  6. Todd - for someone with so few worries in the world - no threat of global warming to worry about...no food riots.......no economic break down etc... you must have a very happy carefree life...a bit like Polly Anna..... so why are you wasting your time getting yourself worked up here with the serious people?
